Game Programmer - Tech Foundation

We are now looking for a Game Programmer - Tech Foundation!

As Game Programmer on the Tech Foundation team, your unique challenge is to work alongside game development teams early on in their product lifecycle to help identify and solve for their unique problem set, helping with problem definition as well as feature and system requirements and architecture.

Who you are:

The Game Programmer on the Tech Foundation team is required to be highly experienced in development of game features and systems, and possess a broad understanding of all gameplay, content and systems areas for game development in the types of titles we will develop.

This role will work within the multidisciplinary Tech Foundation team in creating and providing leveraged solutions to game teams, but also in directly supporting game teams during select phases of development and therefore requires context switching between ‘what works now?’ and ‘what is made to last?”.’ Mastering this balance will be key to the success of this team and future teams.

• Excellent C/C++ skills
• 5+ years hands on experience development multiplayer game features and systems
• Ability to create dynamic systems that interact in an overlapping, emergent way
• Familiarity with broad aspects of game development including gameplay, content creation, and systems
• Familiarity with physics, animation, AI, and systems used to create emergent gameplay
• Solid 3D math foundation in linear algebra, vectors, and matrices
• You have shipped a similar title to the original HellDivers or other top-down action games
• Familiarity with Unreal development ecosystem
• Experience with, or have shipped titles, on Unreal 4 or greater
• Preproduction or Prototyping project phase experience
• Experience supporting multiple game projects in development simultaneously

What you'll do;

• Collaborate with Game Leadership and the development team to translate player experience goals and design into gameplay systems, features and components
• Further extending or generalizing these features and systems into reusable components
• Implementation of features and systems
• Building optimized solutions with memory, performance, extensibility, and network stability taken into account
• Prototyping ideas and testing product viability or identifying technical possibilities and obstacles
• Providing guidance or assistance in creation of game or tech foundation architecture

Practical information

Scope: Full-time: 40 hours per week with initial 6 month probation period.
Location: Office first, hybrid solution possible. You need to be eligible to work in Sweden.
