Game Hardware Testing Lead

The Game Hardware QA Lead is responsible for leading a small team of testers focused on the quality assurance. This team specifically works on new devices to help ensure the best version of those products make it in the hands of other gamers. Being able to identify, troubleshoot, and log detailed bugs for the dev team, and verify fixes have been adequately addressed are all key elements of this position. Being able to support testers and accurately detail the reports for the developers are also equally important for success.
This position is On-Site in our Bothell, WA Office. There are no WFH options available.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct and manage the project operations of Hardware QA Testing
- Act as technical liaison to client for all engagements within the Hardware QA project
- Responsible for kick off meetings, daily reports, and end of project meetings
- Review and help refine test instructions provided by client
- Ensure test labs are set up properly with all necessary equipment
- Ensure all test equipment at each test station is documented
- Prepare database to record test results
- Validate and verify deliverables as accurate and in the proper format
- Triage bugs and assign them out as appropriate
- Review bugs and report to client via e-mail and database
- Train new employees on departmental information, including bug writing
- Establish, document and evolve policies and procedures for testing
- Coordinate and track test resource allocation, acquisition, and release with management, IT support staff, Hardware lab techs, and recruiting team
- Coordinate, collate, and publish aggregated tester evaluations
- Practice continuous improvement of tester morale, performance and disciplines
- Proactively work with client managers and leads to implement solutions to improve efficiency in finding bugs, improve quality of bug reports, shorten test cycles, and enhance the value of the service Keywords provides.
- Act as a back-up for receiving, storing, and distributing equipment
- Monitor facilities and security when no Keywords managers are on site
Requirements
- 2+ years of software testing with a full-scale software life-cycle model
- 1+ years of personnel management experience
- 4+ years of game testing or equivalent work experience
- Ability to quickly troubleshoot any blocking issue that would keep a product from entering test
- Strong knowledge of gam
- Very strong knowledge of the operation of gaming hardware and peripherals
- Be able to multitask and perform well in a high-pressure situation
- Outstanding verbal and written communication
- Ability to successfully interface with clients
- Good understanding of computer components, video and audio standards, and encoders and containers
- Excellent triage and defect writing skills
- Demonstrated leadership in a team environment
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
- Strong understanding of Consumer Acceptance Test fundamentals
- Strong understanding of Compatibility Test fundamental
