Job Overview

A successful Game Designer who will be responsible for Match-3 live game, interacting with various teams at PopReach and bring to the discussion table your industry, market and target audience understanding.

When working on new assets, as a game designer, you will bring ideas, build prototypes, create interactive narration and develop the game's mechanics. You will design systems that are easily maintainable, expandable and comfortable to use which can maintain game economies and also inject fun into the user experience at the same time.

When working on existing assets, as a game designer you are expected to deconstruct, understand and bring in changes through new features or modify existing ones, with positive impact on the user experience and game economy.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work with the unity editor to design, balance and tune match-3 levels
  • Work with Data Analysts to analyse the performance of the game, identify benchmark metrics and areas for improvement to make data informed decisions
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Producers to identify improvements to existing gameplay loops as well as new feature, content, and event ideas
  • Coordinate with Producers, Engineering, and QA to ensure that features and content are developed according to design
  • Write design briefs and product specification documents
  • Drive the design, tuning and balancing of new features and content
  • Plan and own in-game events
  • Provide artists guidance, reference images, and UX mock-ups to reduce art iteration time
  • Define and manage the execution of the daily in-game event schedule
  • Manage messaging, design, and tuning experiments for the daily in-game events

Qualifications

  • Passion for mobile games (especially match-3 games)
  • 4+ year’s experience with designing levels for various casual puzzle games (especially match3)
  • At least, 2 F2P games shipped
  • Worked in Live operations for at least 1 match-3 F2P game
  • Thorough understanding of mobile games’ commercial appeal
  • Experience with free-to-play game design concepts and principles in freemium games
  • Understanding of engagement and monetization KPIs
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Experience writing project plans, design briefs, and product specification documents
  • BA/BS in game design is a plus
