Game Designer - Transformers: Earth Wars

It’s a really exciting time to be at Space Ape Games. We’ve created a fast-paced environment that promotes genuine autonomy and we have projects at all stages of the development cycle. We launched our hit music game, Beatstar, in 2021 and we’re following its success with Countrystar less than two years later. We also officially launched our first puzzle game in 2023, Chrome Valley Customs, and we’re focusing on scaling this game to further global success. On top of all this, we’re running several mature live games and working on some exciting new projects behind the scenes!

We are looking for a versatile and player-focused Game Designer to lead the design of our award-winning strategy game, Transformers: Earth Wars. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting the game roadmap, mentoring junior designers, and creating new features for our still-growing game. As a member of Space Ape's Design Guild you will also get the opportunity to participate in wider design discussions across our entire portfolio of projects.

Responsibilities

• Own all aspects of design, including characters, defences, new events, and features
• Balance and tune combat and abilities in an ever-evolving game
• Guide the design of large-scale features that evolve the Build & Battle genre
• Work hands-on in Unity to create and refine your designs
• Maintain the high standard of quality expected by our dedicated players
• Guide and mentor junior designers

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a game, systems, or feature designer
• Deep understanding of competitive guild features
• Experience using Unity and/or other game creation tools
• A passion for mid-core mobile games
• Interest in the Transformers universe is a definite plus
