Game Designer - Engagement

We are looking for an Engagement Designer like you to join us in our mission to create amazing games and experiences, and to enhance ourselves and our craft. This role will report to our Studio Design Line Director, and work across studios to develop great engagement design experiences on a live game. We are considering on-site and hybrid working options, and welcome full-time remote candidates who are within the US or Canada to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Care about the player's journey from beginner to master and beyond, always looking for what to do to engage
• Support and grow your teammates through knowledge-sharing, training, and writing documentation
• Participate constructively and respectfully in the critique of your work, and the work of others
• Look for opportunities to learn new skills to benefit your growth, your team, and the studio
• Design and implement rewards, assignments, and progression using the Frostbite Engine and other EA tools
• Collaborate with other disciplines (engineering, UX, UI) to ensure that the design and implementation is within the scope and quality

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of game design experience, 2+ years working with engagement design
• Understanding of AAA titles for consoles in the action or FPS genre
• Experience with the player, playstyle, and personas
• Comfortable with some technical implementation.
• Comfortable with spreadsheets and analytics
• Enjoy creative problem-solving, and value respectful feedback processes
• Broad taste in games

Valuable Additional Skills:

• Experience in economics and conversion
• Understanding of current trends in gaming and in particular engagement mechanics in the Shooter genre

US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):º $95,450 - $141,800
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):º $89,200 - $141,800
• Jersey City, NJ:º $105,250 - $141,800
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):º $89,200 - $118,550
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):º $89,200 - $130,750

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby (following 1 year of service), medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
