Founding Engineer

**We're hiring only in Austin, TX. Candidates must already be local to be considered**
What You Need
- A strong engineering background. This can come in many forms. No strict years of experience required.
- You could be a recent grad or junior engineer with an appetite to learn and a passion for gaming
- Or you could be a tenured, experienced engineer with deep familiarity with C# and the Unity engine
- Ingrained sense of ownership and accountability. You own the work you do, and a significant portion of the company. High standard for quality and drive to be proud of everything we ship
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, elegantly fluctuating between the two as required
- Your'e not afraid of the grind. This is an early stage startup, not a 9-5. The hours we put in meaningfully affect our likelihood of success.
What You’ll Do
- Architect and implement major code systems that further the development of current and future titles
- Build robust architecture that remains performant for title lifespan
- Learn from and mentor other teammates, setting the standard for engineering excellence
- Wear many hats, joining a young team in which your role will likely evolve multiple times
- Work closely with production, design, art, QA, marketing and other departments, providing your opinions even if they are outside the scope of your expertise
What Will Help You Succeed
- Excellent communication skills, on engineering project timelines, and ability to concisely convey opinions across aspects of game design and production
- Comfortable working in a highly agile team that ships fast
- Enthusiasm for leveraging AI tools to accelerate development (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, etc.)
- Strong work ethic - startups are a sprint and a marathon at the same time
- A collaborative mindset

We’re an in-person studio. We believe the most successful early teams are collaborating together, in real life. All team members are at our office in Austin, TX, 3-4 days a week!
