We operate across multiple UK locations, with studios based in Oxford, Warwick, Liverpool and Wakefield. The Opportunity
The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager is a new role within Rebellion, as the FP&A Manager you will be accountable for strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting and the provision of analysis and insight to the leadership and senior management teams to support strategic decisions. You will also provide the CFO with all financial performance analysis and reporting for key internal and external stakeholders as well as manage all commercial value decision support for the business.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting process across the group, ensuring a cohesive planning cycle which informs and challenges the business in making key strategic decisions.
- Accountable for all key financial performance reporting which will provide review, challenge and interpretation of all material variances against plan, budget, forecast or prior year to ensure that the senior business management and their direct reports have a full understanding of the value drivers and the relevant business areas’ financial position.
- Define, analyse and interpret Group financial management information and results, determining and recommending courses of action to drive value and manage and improve business unit and Group financial performance.
- Leads the cost control across the group in providing the insight and variance analysis on all reported costs, working closely with the Group Financial Control function to provide a consolidated framework for monitoring and reporting of Group cost performance. This includes cost analysis against budget, business plans, and forecast.
- Management of the Financial/Business Analyst team responsible for partnering the business and interpreting, monitoring, analysing and reporting on the Group's commercial performance and investment decisions.
- Responsible for supporting CFO and Group Financial Controller in all Financial Risk (Credit, Liquidity etc) oversight and management including relevant policies, reporting, stress testing and scenario planning including provision of guidance on profit, capital and risk considerations (through interactions with bank partners and internal Risk functions in the business).
- Responsible for controls and quality standards for all data, systems and processes which underpin the Group Plans, Forecasts, Financial Risk reporting and other analysis.
- Responsible for financial key performance and financial risk reporting to senior management and leadership meetings.
- Accountable for the Group Performance KPIs and portfolio analytics and insight. This will include direct support of individual senior management (eg Games producers, head of business units, group functions such as marketing and IT.
- Responsible for interpreting, monitoring, analysing and reporting on special projects, new product launches, M&A and other business investment decisions including provision of shareholder value analysis and opportunity assessment.
- Build strong relationships with senior business management and the Rebellion community;
- Drive forward the strategy planning agenda in conjunction with CFO. Ensure that a robust strategic planning framework and modelling capability is in place, ensuring that strategic objectives are robustly analysed and incorporated.
- Together with other Finance team members, define and develop Finance strategic projects and gain support at the executive level.
- Manage external consultants and other service providers for relevant FP&A projects to maximise value of services to finance and the business
Requirements
- Ability to Make good decisions; manage relationships with key stakeholders; developing the strategy; delivering business results; influencing; bringing innovation to problem solving, making change work.
- Likely to be a qualified accountant with proven experience operating at senior management level.
- First class communication skills for dealing with key internal and external stakeholders at senior level.
- Comprehensive knowledge of strategic and operational financial management in a major private business.
- Proven ability in the use of financial analysis and modelling to drive stakeholder behaviour and activity.
- Comprehensive knowledge and wide practical experience across a number of financial disciplines. Detailed knowledge of key relevant legal, regulatory and statutory requirements, technical interpretation and the ability to provide advice thereon.
- Good knowledge of products and services available through other specialist providers and when to refer elsewhere to ensure both business and/or customer needs are met.
- Able to develop detailed understanding of Rebellions products, services and technologies and their impact. Uses this knowledge to define and formulate both medium and long term business strategies and direction.
- Strong leadership skills and experience of managing a team.
