Financial Accountant – UK Accounting

THE POSITION

Miniclip is looking for a Financial Accountant to manage the financial accounts for our offices in the UK (London, Guildford, Derby ). This is a full-time position based in Lisbon (PT), reporting to the Studio Accountant. Please apply only if you have the right to work in Portugal.

The ideal candidate will be someone comfortable working without direct supervision and experience in working with teams based across different countries.

The Financial Accountant will be required to take on all elements for the month , and , year-end processes , with knowledge of local accounting and tax compliance.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Produce meaningful monthly management accounts for the offices in UK
• Perform in, a timely manner, general accounting activities and close financial books accurately and efficiently
• Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and procedures , keep ing pace in external accounting regulations and standards
• Provide Balance Sheet reconciliations and valuable regular critical reviews of the P&L
• Apply judgement in optimizing intercompany processes
• Assist in local audit process and ensure findings are effectively addressed and resolved in a timely manner
• Produce inestimable year-end financial statements for Statutory Accounts to senior stakeholders
• Understand and adheres to all internal and external consolidation processes to develop financial statements
• Provide valuable variance analysis and reporting on CAPEX spending
• Assist in VAT , Income Tax , and other tax and local obligations
• Prepare OPEX analysis by working with other functions
• Produce relevant a d hoc analysis , as and when required
• Continuously improve core accounting processes by root causing , and generating improvement ideas , to tackle process inefficiencies.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

• At least 5 years’ experience in management accounting
• Studying for , or completed , UK local accounting qualifications , such as CIMA/ACCA/ACA
• Deep and broad understanding of UK GAAP to ensure organizational compliance
• Strong knowledge of internal controls and proficiency in financial reporting
• Experience in a share d service environment (preferential)
• Self-sufficient and capable of working to a high degree of autonomy
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset, comfortable in dealing with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Critical thinking and problem solving, with the ability to g enerate multiple options to solve problem s, i dentif ying the most effective solution

• Able to d emonstrate accountability for timely and high-quality service to the business
• Team player, establishes strong relationships with remote colleagues , and influences team thinking during virtual discussions
• Fluent in English, written and spoken (mandatory )
• Solid MS Office knowledge ( W ord, E xcel , O utlook)
• Experience with SAGE 300 is advantageous
