Overview
This role is based in Novi Sad, Serbia and will support 3Lateral’s significant growth aspirations within the Epic Games group. We are looking for a senior finance professional to join our growing Serbian-based team as our Finance Operations Manager.
This is a critical role to enable 3Lateral to continue to grow both its finance and operations functions. The role will report into Epic’s European finance team (based in the UK and Switzerland) but will work closely with senior leadership within the 3Lateral business and the wider Epic Group. The role will take responsibility for building best in class reporting and control structures to ensure that 3Lateral’s financial and operational performance is optimized, scalable and clearly communicated on a timely and accurate basis.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the existing 3Lateral leadership team, operations and accounting team (based in both Serbia and Switzerland), to ensure that there is a strong holistic view of accounting and finances, and that finances are managed, controlled and presented in a way that is representative of business operations.
- Be a change leader within 3Lateral in respect of both finance and operational changes to our front-end processes and manage the associated change management.
- Drive consistency of approach and standardization of both financial and operational processes against Epic Global requirements.
- Partner with operational leaders to understand the various capital projects that are ongoing within 3Lateral, including status, accounting considerations, budgetary oversight and tracking, and implementation of capital project controls and processes.
- Partner with cross functional teams to implement a new ERP with regional localization and customization to ensure our compliance obligations are met.
- Manage external service providers, such as professional services firms, and ensure service delivery.
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status in order to have an overall, holistic view of the business's finances
- Regularly report and present to both 3Lateral and Epic management about the overall finances of 3Lateral and individual capital projects
- Bring financial best performance to core business processes relevant to 3Lateral, including in respect of financial accounting, processes and control, and financial reporting, (both for monthly GAAP reporting and also for annual financial statements preparation)
- Produce detailed and robust financial forecasts and budgets, and manage the processes of tracking and reporting against budgeted spend
- Partner with teams throughout 3Lateral to identify and report on risk, mitigations as well as opportunities for operational and financial efficiency improvements to existing processes.
- Represent Epic’s controllership function in the implementation of a flexible and suitable scaled internal control environment that is robust and stands up to external audit.
- Build the knowledge base of critical business controls and processes throughout 3Lateral to ensure that there is a broad awareness of Epic’ internal controls framework.
- Review, recommend and participate in modifications to or migrations to new accounting systems and adapt underlying procedures accordingly.
- Participate in financial standards setting and local deployment (such as IFRS 16)
- Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and ensure alignment with Epic group policies.
- Ensuring Serbian territory specific regulatory compliance from a finance perspective.
Requirements
- 5+ years of senior accounting, controlling or financial operations management experience
- Chartered accountant or a holder of other equivalent qualifications
- Team management experience
- Recent experience with new accounting topics and financial best practice
- University degree in Accounting, Finance or another relevant field
- Strong project management skills and experience
- Proven ability to be able to operate in a nimble, dynamic and entrepreneurial environment
- Fluent in Serbian and English
- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and in-depth understanding of accounting principles in Serbia
- Familiarity with financial reporting requirements at both a local and international level
- Experience with the month-end/year-end close processes
- Experience with different accounting software packages is a plus
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail, excellent analytical skills
- Relevant certification/experience in the follows area are a plus - IFRS, USGAAP, Internal Controls, Project Management.
