Fantasy Games Web Coordinator – Activision Blizzard Esports [Contract Role]
The Overwatch League and Call of Duty League are global, world-class esports ecosystems designed from the ground up to ensure that teams and players can thrive for years to come, and that fans have the best experience possible. These leagues meld Blizzard’s experience in esports with the best practices of traditional sports. At Activision Blizzard Esports we are also constantly looking to innovate new products and competitive esports experiences, like the highly successful World Series of Warzone.
We’re looking for a proven Web Coordinator to assist in operating our digital fantasy and interactive games with the goal of enriching the fan experience across our competitive and fan-facing products. This role is both operational and creative. The ideal candidate is a tech savvy, metrics-minded, detail-oriented communicator who is passionate about creating and operationalizing engaging interactive experiences and games.
The selected candidate would join the Activision Blizzard Esports Digital Products Team, which builds and manages the digital products for the Esports group. We are a highly collaborative team and would expect the ideal candidate to share in that collaborative and inclusive approach.
If you join our team, you’ll help in many different areas of the digital suite of products. This includes but is not limited to fantasy and “pick’em” style games, second-screen games during live matches, co-streaming tools, and operations of the websites and apps before, during, and after matches.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support for digital products during live broadcasts. This includes frequent work on weekends during the Overwatch League and Call of Duty League seasons and could possibly include off hours for matches taking place in different time zones (days off are provided during the weekdays when weekend work is required).
- Creation of a runbook for our interactive suite of games to create consistently entertaining gamification, trivia, and prizing opportunities.
- Writing of content including but not limited to trivia questions and interesting facts that add engagement to the suite of games.
- Asset creation via Photoshop, Figma or comparable tools that enhance the visual experience of interactive experiences.
- Operation of interactive games, including planning and operating the available software and tools.
- Operation of admin tools to enable viewership drivers like co-streaming.
- Publishing content in coordination with global departments to meet product objectives.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows across various interactive game and content publishing platforms.
- Manage metadata of digital content, including assets, tags, titles, descriptions, localizations, subtitles, and more.
- Populate web properties with official league content including updating of utility information like Standings, Scores, and Schedules.
- Curate video content across owned and operated video channels.
