Job Description
Magic Leap, Inc. is seeking a facilities maintenance technician, to support our manufacturing facility in Plantation, Florida. We are seeking a facilities technician that can perform a variety of tasks including basic troubleshooting on HVAC, electrical, wastewater/plumbing, and mechanical equipment. Perform general maintenance on chillers, exhaust fans, air compressors, vacuum pumps, wastewater neutralization system, and high purity water systems. Possess the ability to use the facility control/monitoring system to ensure the facility and cleanroom environments are meeting specifications. This position may be exposed to atmospheric conditions, such as: dust, fumes, noise and varying temperatures all within OSHA standards.
This position will be based out of our Plantation HQ and will require for you to be onsite. Flexibility is a plus!
Responsibilities
- Performs basic troubleshooting on HVAC, wastewater, DI system, fire and security system, air compressors, etc.
- Monitor all preventative maintenance work and schedules to complete assigned work
- Work with specialized outside vendors to repair and maintain cleanroom and facility systems
- Prepare and maintain logs, monthly reports, inventory reports, purchase orders, etc.
- Hazardous waste disposal
- Compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations including EPA and OSHA regulations and building codes
- Perform general facility repairs, maintenance, and work order requests
- Must be able to work in a cleanroom environment, which includes wearing PPE
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience facilities/manufacturing environment preferred
- Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, water system and hydraulics
- Ability to use hand and power tools including forklift operation, lifts, etc
- Experience with cleanroom environments preferred
- Experience with hazardous waste disposal and maintaining paper and electronic logs preferred
- Experience using a facility monitoring/control system preferred
- This position requires continuous physical effort; intermittent and long-term work cycles; standing, walking, sitting, repetitive motion, and lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Employees should demonstrate knowledge of hazardous communication regulations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and e-mail)
- Emergency Response Team experience preferred
- Employees may work weekends, overtime shifts and participate in on-call rotation
- OSHA 10 certification preferred
Education
High School or GED. Trade School or Associates degree preferred
