Executive Producer

Ascendant Studios is looking for an experienced Executive Producer to oversee our brand new AAA IP and help to build an exceptional game development team. Applicant MUST have a background in games production. Our ideal candidate will have shipped a recent title in an Executive Producer role, and shipped multiple AAA during their career, and had experience standing up new studios and IPs. Familiarity with Unreal Engine and multiplayer live ops are big pluses.
This is a full time position. We are all currently working remotely due to Covid-19, but once we return the position will be based in our office in San Rafael, CA. Prospective employees not living in the San Francisco Bay Area will need to relocate within 45 days of the start date, and be available to work onsite.
What you'll do:
- Work with directors, leads, and our external partners to ensure that the game reaches high quality benchmarks while remaining in scope and under budget
- Own and oversee the budget and schedule for the project
- Spearhead the selection, vetting, and continued relationships between Ascendant and its potential publishing and development partners.
- Create schedules, roadmaps, feature lists, presentations, and other documents necessary for assessing and planning the scope of the title
- Anticipate, identify, and mitigate risks and bottlenecks throughout development
- Lead by example to promote proper development process and healthy and collaborative company culture
- Assess the needs of milestones and budgets, make and stand by hard decisions
Who you are:
- 10+ years experience as a producer or project manager in the videogames industry
- Shipped at least one well rated AAA title (multimillion dollar budget, highest quality target) in an Executive Producer role.
- Great at proactive, data-driven problem solving.
- Top notch planning, decision making, and people management skills.
- Commitment to building and maintaining a healthy schedule and collaborative, friendly team culture.
- Ability to effectively communicate goals, requirements, and dependencies between different departments.
- Great at creating and maintaining complex schedules, as well as making sure those schedules are followed.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, organization, and multitasking ability.
- Comfortable with raising concerns, making tough decisions, and resolving interpersonal conflicts.
- Understanding of modern shooters and narrative driven titles, including their gameplay loops, audiences, post-launch content plans, and monetization strategies
Bonus points:
- Previous experience with live ops multiplayer titles
- Background in FPS development
- Understanding of Unreal Engine 4
