Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for an Environment Artist specializing in photogrammetry to join the development of a new IP.
Feed your creativity while collaborating with our team of highly-skilled developers to build something innovative, exhilarating, and expansively entertaining.
As a member of the Art department, you’ll be responsible for capturing and processing high-quality scans of real-world objects to build immersive 3D assets for game environments, ensuring artistic consistency and exploring new techniques to improve visual quality and efficiency.
As a member of the project, you’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.
- Collaborate with other artists, level designers and the art director to plan photogrammetry needs for the project and integrate photogrammetry assets into the game world
- Capture high-quality scans of real-world objects, environments, and materials using the latest capturing processes and organize, process and clean raw scan data to so that it can be used to build high quality 3D assets
- Set up placeholder assets and submit requests to OS teams; follow up on the progress and quality of the work during its development
- Ensure that there is consistency in the art style and quality of photogrammetry assets
- Continuously explore and implement new photogrammetry techniques and tools to improve efficiency and quality
You’re awesome because you have…
- A strong portfolio demonstrating focus and passion for crafting content via Photogrammetry or other methods of scanning
- Excellent artistic and design skills, including a keen eye for composition, color theory, and visual storytelling
- Knowledge of photogrammetry hardware and photography techniques
- Knowledge of the process and workflows of LiDAR scanning
- Proficiency in photogrammetry software (e.g., RealityCapture , Metashape )
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and texturing software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, ZBrush , Substance Painter/Designer)
- Solid understanding of PBR (Physically Based Rendering) principles and material authoring
- Ability to consistently resolve issues from a visual, production, and technical perspective
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment and ability to adapt to evolving project needs
- Proven experience (3+ years) crafting Environment or Prop Art in AAA game development with at least one AAA title connected to your name
- Experience working in Modern Game Engines with an awareness of game budgets, limits, and memory constraints
- Experience with scripting or programming for automation in photogrammetry workflows
- Experience in working in or developing procedural workflows via tools like Houdini
- Experience with MeshLab, Cloud Compare, Reality Capture or equivalent software for manipulating point cloud data
