And this is where you come in! As an experienced Environment Artist at Omeda Studios, you will be responsible for designing and implementing AAA-quality environments in Unreal Engine 5 while keeping level design and performance needs in check.
In This Role, You Will:
- Create high-quality organic and hard surface models and texture maps based on briefs and references, interpreting abstract ideas effectively
- Present your work using a turntable-style environment with appropriate lighting for progress reviews and approval, including scale references
- Maintain consistent Texel density and budgeted Polycount throughout scenes
- Optimize topology and implement best practices for a non-Nanite workflow in Unreal Engine 5
- Implement baked lighting workflows to ensure optimal performance and visual quality
- Arrange scenery elements and props to enhance the game's storytelling
- Optimize LODs and HLODs for different platforms (PC and console)
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with other artists, designers, and programmers
- Work closely with Design and Art Directors to ensure geometry and textures function correctly, addressing any necessary mesh fixes
What We're Looking For:
- A strong portfolio showcasing diverse AAA-quality environments as an Environment Artist
- Proficiency in creating high-quality models, texture maps, and UV mapping
- Strong understanding of form, color, texture, and light
- Understanding of architecture, city spaces, and landscapes to inform the environment design
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have:
- Strong knowledge of lighting in Unreal Engine 5, optimizing post-processes to achieve the desired final result
- Ability to create concept-based compositions of assets within a level
- Previous experience working on competitive TPS/FPS games
