GSN Games is looking for an Engineering Manager to help staff and run a new software engineering team in Bangalore!

What you’ll do:
Effectively run the teams to deliver features and services on-time and with high level of quality. You will be building/validating resourcing plan to deliver on features roadmap. You will be responsible for rapidly on-board new team members on to our tech stack, development processes and requirements for the upcoming features. You will be required to organise the team in smaller, atomic teams each consisting of a principal software engineer and senior software engineers. You will be instrumental in delivering a platform that will allow us to launch new experiences based on the business plans and roadmaps that we have set for the upcoming year. You will be expected to introduce new techniques, tools, and practices; coach and mentor the team, and to expand or rearrange the team when necessary. You will manage the workload for the team, help facilitate excellent communication between local and remote team members, and provide frequent and detailed project status updates to stakeholders.
You will:
- Line manage, grow and develop each of your team members.
- Identify and address concerns that the engineers raise or ones that are raised by other teams regarding the performance of the engineers.
- Provide feedback to unblock team members.
- Effectively communicate and work with local and remote team members to design and implement technology to deliver new backend features,
- tools, services and automation solutions.
- Commit to high-speed iterations, high code quality, and continuous improvement via agile processes (code reviews, automated testing,
- continuous integration, and continuous deployment).
- Provide engineering knowledge for new and existing automation solutions, apps, tools, and services.
- Identify the personnel requirements, recommend appropriate staffing solutions. Be an integral part of the hiring process for the engineering team.
- Be the owner of the engineering effort for backend and an integral stakeholder for the features and services that are developed.
You will need:
- 5+ years of managing and leading a first-class engineering team of at least 6 people.
- 10+ years of combined individual contributor/leadership experience in client-side application development or backend platform technology.
- Excellent leadership skills to mentor the engineers under you.
- Proven experience working in fast-paced, geographically distributed cross-functional teams with a strong background in agile practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Deep understanding of technologies and architecture in a highly scalable and available set-up.
- Strong object-oriented design skills, and an uncanny ability to design intuitive module and class-level interfaces.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent preferred.

- Shipped multiple mobile applications or games on iOS and Android.
