About the Position
Amazon Interactive Video Service (IVS) is an AWS service that allows developers to easily use the low-latency highly-distributed live video platform that powers Twitch in their own applications. The Video Clients group is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead our Web Video Clients team, which builds broadcast and player software development kits (SDKs) that enable IVS customers to broadcast live streams and play back those streams on web platforms. Twitch’s desktop and mobile web applications use the same player SDK to handle low-level video playback and provide a consistent, high-quality viewing experience.
You will experience the best of both worlds while working on a new AWS service within Twitch, with immersion in Twitch’s creator-first culture and unique perks while having access to the resources of a growing business. You will mentor and grow a team of talented senior engineers and partner with experts in video technology, distributed systems, and networking. Your team will improve Twitch, the largest live video entertainment platform in the world with over 1 trillion minutes of content watched in 2021, and help set the direction of a rapidly evolving AWS service. Your team will deliver new SDK features, build new types of video clients, improve client quality of service, reliability, and performance, and support organization-wide video initiatives.
The Video Clients group has the highest visibility within Twitch’s video organization because we develop the primary interface that Twitch viewers and IVS customers use to access the live video platform. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager of Video Clients and collaborate directly with senior leadership in multiple organizations.

- Work with external device manufacturers and browser vendors, and internal Twitch product and video engineering teams to navigate the complexities of building consistent video experiences within fragmented ecosystems
- Provide high-level architectural direction to your team to sustain engineering and operational excellence
- Make data-driven decisions to balance product requirements with engineering realities
You Have:
- 3+ years of engineering management experience

- Experience managing and growing a remote-friendly team
- Customer obsession and focus on delivering high-quality software
