Engineering Manager, Cloud Service Enablement | Shared Tech

At King millions of players connect to our games every day. They rely on our infrastructure to be up 24/7, 365 days a year to improve their experience with our games.

We are building up a new team in Cloud Engineering at King focused at supporting various teams both inside and outside our Shared Tech organization with levering platforms and infrastructure from the public cloud and in particular GCP. Initial focus will be in supporting the vital migration of the game and game-supporting applications and workloads to GCP.

Going forward we want to set the standard on how we support the company to thrive in the Cloud. This team will enable developers at King to innovate with speed and confidence by supporting, architecting, and catalyzing Cloud infrastructure for them. Together with our Observability and

Compute platform teams, we take away the complexity and friction for our users and shape our offerings and support to empower King developers to bring to bear the full power of Cloud technologies without having to worry about its complexities.

Your role within the Kingdom

As an Engineering Manager, you will encourage and empower the talents in your team, so they can excel in building phenomenal software and systems, whilst supporting individual career growth through specific goal setting and continuous feedback. You will support the team with recruitment, mentoring, coaching, facilitation and performance management and more. Encourage, engage, and guide the team through this exciting transformation that requires extensive collaboration, outstanding engineering and most importantly a fun, open and relaxed working environment.

You will also be accountable for the team commitments to deliveries and ensure the team has good ways of working. Facilitate and enable team discussions and decisions of both technical and non-technical nature. You will also be coordinating projects, engaging with stakeholders in collaboration with the product manager.

You have a humble and open approach to leadership, with a strong belief in DE&I, servant leadership, Agile practices and a keen interest in developing people plus a side curiosity about gaming and techy stuff!

• Experience of Cloud computing support, enablement, and architecture
• Expert leader with a passion for developing others
• Experience in agile methodologies and running long-term projects
• Phenomenal communication, mentor and feedback skills
• Technical background in software engineering or site reliability engineering with bonus points for MySQL, Kafka and event stream processing scenarios.
