EMEA Esports Project Manager

The Role

As EMEA Esports Project Manager, you will report to the Business Strategy Lead, EMEA Esports. You will focus on managing projects of various sizes across Riots' EMEA Esports portfolio and lead a number of cross-functional projects while working closely with the Leadership Team, key customers and stakeholders and the broader organization. You will manage the delivery of several cross-functional programs and projects with focus on setting, tracking and holding the teams accountable to reach project milestones. Furthermore, you will facilitate various rituals from retro sessions to larger department-wide gatherings. Serving as the air traffic controller for emergent work, you'll prioritize project increments across multiple complex problem domains. Your work will help to drive positive impact for players and Riot alike.

Responsibilities:

• Define project scope, roadmap and success criteria aligning with business objectives
• Lead the delivery of impactful EMEA Esports programs that involve multiple concurrent work streams and rely on cross-functional teams to complete
• Build regular reportings to inform about the status-quo of projects, including progress, achievements, bottlenecks, dependencies or challenges leading to delays
• Help improve and implement EMEA Esports program management/change processes, methods, tools, and guidelines
• Create a healthy team ecosystem with all team members by facilitating and iterating on team process such as retros and general rituals involving smaller and larger teams
• Create clear project plans together with involved departments and collaborate with cross functional teams to identify & build action plans and associated communications
• Build relationships with product leadership/important partners and act as a trusted advisor
• Oversee dependency management and manage delivery risks management
• Manage our P&L ensuring funds are spent with intent
• Evaluate important projects and identify the areas (resources, schedule, risks) that either require additional definition or are not being sufficiently managed

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of project and program management experience
• 4+ years of experience creating roadmaps and managing large-scale projects
• Experience managing the delivery of a cross-functional and multi-workstream program in a business to consumer environment
• Experience with financial management principles as they relate to portfolio and project management
• Experience managing multiple partners
• Experience creating milestones within large-complex programs
• Experience motivating a team, with a passion for inspiring others at all levels
• Organized, with a natural inclination for planning, and capable of responding to change
• Expert level Agile craftsman, understand Agile principles and practices
• Portfolio and project management experience, plus knowledge of project planning tools with evidence of practical application

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working with both internal and external programs
• Experience as a delivery lead in sports and esports
• PMP, Agile Project Management or equivalent certification
