Docketing ClerkSummary
The Docketing Clerk – Patents will support patent work for a publicly-traded company with global activities across various time zones and cultures. The ideal candidate will be proactive, efficient, highly organized, discreet, and very comfortable multi-tasking and juggling multiple priorities.What you'll do
- Maintains the docketing database and calendar for patents
- Maintains current deadlines in accordance with correspondence received and current legal requirements
- Tracks filing and litigation deadlines, confirms filing, and generates a variety of reports
- Review pleadings and filings
- Prepares and sends patent reporting correspondence
- Prepares legal documents as needed
- Performs internal docket audits as needed
- Maintains and organizes files and databases
- Conducts patent database research for due diligence purposes
- Assists internal attorneys and paralegals on various projects as required
- Performs administrative tasks for the IP Team as required
- Communicates with clients, team and staff to ensure quality of service
- Maintains substantive understanding of priorities and initiatives to help prioritize, manage and follow through on projects to bring them to completion
- Generates status reports regarding patent filing and prosecution
What we're looking for
- Minimum 3 years’ prior experience
- Minimum working knowledge of both CPI and Anaqua, Prefer detailed experience with this software
- Experience in a corporate legal environment preferred
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- Experience with CPI preferred
- Self-motivated and efficient, with good business judgment
- Effective communication and analytical skills, both oral and written including high degree of skill in grammar, spelling and punctuation are essential
- Ability to efficiently manage large workload and react promptly to multiple deadlines while meeting personal and team key performance objectives
- Ability to work independently
- Must maintain a professional demeanor
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Detail oriented and organized
- Basic Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, DocuSign, and Adobe Professional skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Must be able to work with highly confidential and sensitive documents and information and maintain such confidentiality to protect the organization
