In the position of Director of Public Relations in Raleigh, North Carolina, you will partner with our VP of Marketing to lead our public relations efforts and take on responsibility for the strategy, collaboration, execution and measurement of PR & Media Relations Campaigns. Your goal will be building and enhancing a favorable image of our company with employees, potential candidates, clients, potential partners, influencers and the gaming consumer. A passion for video games, technology and entrepreneurship is a must. When working on a team, you listen well, collaborate seamlessly, and you are not afraid to share innovative new ideas. As an individual, you are accountable, trustworthy, and proactive.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead marketing communications plans including strategy, goals, budget and tactics
  • Partner with outside agencies to develop media relations strategies, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media
  • Help to coordinate all public relations activities including events logistics, speaking opps
  • Work closely with regional marketing teams to create engaging content for audiences across traditional and new media
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media
  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests
  • Create content for press announcements, bylined articles and presentation scripts
  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis
  • Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
  • Ability to combine traditional Public Relations activities with next generation solutions, such as Xsolla’s Cloud PR system

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • BA/MA degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related discipline
  • 5-7 years and a proven track record strategizing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a domestic and international level
  • Strong relationships with both business and industry media outlets, content creators/influencers is a bonus
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills - short form, long form, branded content, light ad copy writing
  • Solid experience with content for social media including bylined articles, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
  • Global event planning and execution experience
  • B2B Marketing
  • Experience in handling crisis communications via social platform interactions
  • Must have experience working in the video game industry
  • Fintech experience is a plus
