As a Director of Product , you’ll work across Episode and New Projects, leading the product team and partnering with creative owners making and operating games for women.
What We’ve Accomplished:
- Developed and launched Episode , creating a brand new “interactive story” category in mobile games that has garnered over 350 million downloads.
- Turned Episode into a user-generated content platform, allowing user creators to publish over 160,000 interactive stories for our players.
What You'll Do:
- Lead a team of product managers on Episode as well as new games for the Episode audience, supporting them executing well and growing in their product management craft.
- In addition, drive and own key areas yourself on Episode as well as new games at different times.
- On Episode, the focus of you and your team is to keep Episode operating well as the largest interactive story game on mobile, doing right by our players and creators.
- On new games, product managers play a cross functional role to craft new casual games for women including channeling the voice of players, partnering with the technical team on the delivery of builds, and working hand in hand with designers, story writers, and artists on the creative.
- Be strong doing as well as guiding others in prioritization and feature development for both new and live games.
- Work in an environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction.
- Provide data-driven and analytical framework for making good decisions
What You Bring to the Product Management Team:
- You have 8+ years experience in product management.
- Worked on a successful free-to-play casual game targeting a female audience, likely partnering with strong creative vision-holders.
- Experienced in quantitative analysis and have the ability to refine hypotheses/models by digging into player data.
- Up to date with current trends in free-to-play mobile games and understand the pros and cons of the decisions that different games make.
- Have depth in mobile games the overlap with the Episode audience, including recent launches such as Monopoly GO and games such as Love and the Producer.
- Have strong affinity with and understanding of the Episode audience, which likely means you enjoy light hearted, romantic, and playful stories. Romances, RomComs and YA novels are your go to for comfort.
- Ability to manage complex projects and production schedules.
- Crave constant feedback that helps you make your games better.
- Love the idea of creating highly engaging mobile games that will be seen (and played) by millions!
Extra Gems For:
- Experience with Unity editor and Unity tools to implement game content
- Scrummaster certification
- Degree in a quantitative/technical discipline (CS, Engineering, Math, Econ, etc.) and/or MBA
- SQL expertise
- Specific experience in any of the following:
- Role-playing games
- Interactive story games
- Casual casino games
- Startup experience
- Engineering/software development

The range provided below is Pocket Gems’ reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as location, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. In addition, this position is eligible for annual performance bonuses and equity.

Pay range
$200,000 — $245,000 USD
