Director of Product, Data

The GSN Games Data team provides end to end data solutions to GSN Games' studios. This includes the machine learning algorithms that power mission critical aspects of our games portfolio, Data Engineering/Infrastructure services such as data pipelines, AB test platforms, targeting tools, etc. as well as best-in-class Analytics team and User Research teams. Combined, they work together with a group of highly talented individuals and key decision makers to make GSN Games a fun and rich experience for players.

You will be a thought leader on the roadmap and planning process these teams take to execute in their individual technical domains. Recent projects the team has worked on: Machine Learning algorithms including LTV/churn/payer prediction, segmentation; Data Infrastructure initiatives including vendor analysis (AWS, GCP, Vertica), onboarding our next generation reporting tools including Tableau, internally built AB Test, targeting platforms, etc. This is an exceptional opportunity to apply your organizational skills to shape the future of GSN Games’ roadmap.

• Collaborate with GSN game studio leads to ensure the Data team’s roadmap aligns to their strategic objectives
• Drive adoption and evangelize data products across the organization
• Work very closely with the Data Engineering team on key Big Data Initiatives to ensure our platform is, and remains, cutting edge. This includes working with new offerings on AWS, GCP/BigQuery, Vertica and Spark technologies
• Work closely with our Analytics, ML and Player Insights teams to ensure their products are supported and aligned closely with the rest of the team
• Partner with game studios to solve business-critical questions. Sometimes these questions are brought to us, and sometimes we bring these questions to the game teams
• Manage and mentor our Data Technical Project Manager, who will be responsible for the execution of our technical roadmap
• Help develop best practices with data and analytic techniques across the game studios
• Keep up with industry trends and development
  
  

• 5+ years’ experience in related product management, preferably with machine learning platforms, data architectures, and analytics. Candidate should have strategic insights, be able to create vision and develop strategy
• Experience leading and managing large projects that span various groups
• Experience working and communicating with a variety of global stakeholders (engineering, UA, product, e-staff)
• Direct experience working with data engineering teams on highly technical products / platforms
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and other product management tools
• Experience building data science roadmaps for marketing or advertising centric products
• Deep knowledge of data science and product development lifecycles, and associated processes to transform ideas into successful features
• Excellent communication skills
• BS in a quantitative field such as math, economics, or computer science (MS/MBA preferred)
• Experience in gaming a strong plus
