As thatgamecompany continues to grow and innovate, we're looking for an experienced Director of People Operations to lead our global team. This is an exciting role as you will be part of the leadership team to innovate, implement and manage our total rewards and employee wellbeing programs, people processes, learning & development, and global expansion efforts. You will be working closely with our global team of artists, designers, engineers, marketing, and operations personnel, ensuring that we all grow together with and in alignment with our organization’s vision. This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer.
Responsibilities
- Lead People Operations projects that impact the people's experience, including but not limited to culture surveys, employee engagement, compensation analysis, benefits/leaves, 401K, performance reviews, collaborative people initiatives, learning & development, and company events.
- Partner with cross-functional teams: Talent Acquisition, Legal, Finance, IT and other functions to integrate people solutions and champion projects where needed.
- Interact with senior management, executives, and/or major internal and external business partners. Ability to push back on matters that don’t align with the organization.
- Proactively improve onboarding, off-boarding, and other employee lifecycle processes and lead the team to drive efficiency on administrative tasks.
- Evaluate and maintain accurate information management and filing systems to ensure compliance with records retention. Ensure compliance with all federal/state/local employment laws and regulations and work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with global regulations.
- Guide your direct reports to ensure their success in their roles
- Be the Ambassador of the company’s values by fostering open and transparent communication.
Must haves
- At least 15-18 years of experience in People Operations and HR and management consulting, with at least 8 to 10 years in a leadership role.
- Highly intuitive, empathetic and compassionate.
- Understands how creatives and engineers operate.
- Love for video games and believe that we can elevate games as an art form.
- Industry experience in gaming, entertainment and/or technology.
- Worked with small to mid-sized companies and helped organizations scale quickly.
- A deep understanding of employment law, compliance, coupled with the ability to gain a high level understanding of territorial employment customs and practices working with internal and external resources and partners.
- Experience working with benefits brokers and/or PEO/EOR to design and implement health and wellness programs that are cutting edge and competitive.
- Experience managing financial savings programs such as 401(k).
- Experience identifying, implementing and managing HRIS.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills in developing and executing operational and strategic initiatives.

Salary range from $175,000 to $195,000. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
