Job Description
At Ubisoft Montreal’s User Research Lab, we contribute to creating the best gaming experiences by putting players – their behaviours, motivations, and more – at the centre of the design process.
Working hand in hand with production teams, we deliver in-depth player insights to guide decision-making, combining state-of-the-art qualitative and quantitative analysis through a variety of methodologies and data sources to do so.
As an Operation Director at the User Research Lab, your mission will be to manage the operations pole of the department composed of transversal multi-disciplinary expert teams, totaling over 20 employees. This pole’s mission consists in empowering processes, tools and strategies to scale the impact of our research.
You will be in charge of managing your respective teams, translating the department’s strategic vision and direction into concrete objectives for their team, ensure the follow-up and development of their team members and ensuring optimal use and well being of their team.
What you'll do
- Establishing and putting in place management strategies aiming at maintaining and optimizing the team’s efficiency and quality of work by being on the lookout of the most recent technological and work processes advancements;
- Anticipating and planning their team’s needs in terms of resources (human, financial, hard/software, etc.);
- Contributing in evolving the department’s strategic vision and ensuring it’s application;
- Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with the various department teams and with clients, partners and stakeholders through continuous communication and collaboration;
- Reflect core department and corporate values through professional and ethical management, in accordance with corporate policies;
- Supervise, coach and perform yearly performance evaluations of their team members;
- Perform any other related duties.
Qualifications
What you bring
- At least 5 years of experience in team management/direction, complex project management or any other relevant experience.
- Experience in building & growing research teams.
- Experience in dealing with key stakeholders and management.
- Experience & knowledge in User Experience, Player Experience, User Research, Game analytics or any other relevant field.
- B.Sc or Ms.C. in a relevant field relating to the department’s activities (qualitative/quantitative research, management, game analytics, etc.).
- Ability to develop a strategic vision.
- Ability to propose and put in place transformations.
- Excellent communication and relational skills.
- Adequate knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research processes/methods.
- Adequate knowledge in user experience.
- Passion for video games, user experience and game development.
- Excellent leadership skills.
