THE ROLE
The Director of Live Streaming and Events will play the central role in the vision, creation, and execution of our live streaming capabilities, in-game enablement of corresponding tech and features, influencer management, and live events designed to engage our players across all titles.
You will have a proven track record of creating effective and engaging entertainment for gamers across multiple disciplines, both in and out of games, and knowledge of how such content plays a key role in marketing and social campaigns in the modern gaming space. You will have a passion for creating an ecosystem of content across streamed, live events and video, providing not only entertainment but also a platform through which our players can engage directly with our games and others in the community. Collaboration with internal social and community teams, in addition to players and influencers, will be key to understanding your audience. Coupled with an in-depth knowledge of our games you will form strategies for how to communicate effectively with our players and build dedicated audiences.
You will be responsible for the output and growth of all live streamed content, and work with internal and external stakeholders to create in-house technology solutions for regular live streamed content. You will lead the execution of our live streaming events and competitions from industry shows and events around the world.
As a vision holder you will represent and own this aspect of the business, creating a vision for your team, meaningful and effective KPI’s and corresponding goals, and a strategy for making it a reality. You will be able to map out meaningful steps for bringing that vision to life, plan and budget, and be accountable for its execution and results. You will build effective working relationships and processes between internal teams to facilitate the production of content across all titles and forge a collaborative approach to content creation around key content updates and marketing beats.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage build-out of in-house streaming capabilities
- Work closely with development teams to ensure games are designed with the requisite capabilities to enable live streaming in accordance with product goals
- In conjunction with the Head of Global Integrated Communications, manage programming deals with influencers to maximize reach to potential players in a way that’s true to both the game and the influencer’s brands
- Build programs that support the global brand marketing goals and the need to drive retention with existing players
- Manage the company’s streaming and event presence at player events such as Gamescom, Comic-con, PAX, and others
- Design and manage large-scale competitive player events
- Establish KPI’s and set goals against them for each initiative
Requirements / Skills
- A passion for gaming, and embedding yourself in our games
- A deep understanding of content creation for gaming across all mediums, including video, live streaming, events and in-game
- Significant leadership experience, including working closely with high profile talent
- Extensive experience of working with key internal teams such as social, community, marketing, creative services and game development
- Experience of facilitating marketing campaigns through the use of video content and event activity
- Live event production experience
- Knowledge of industry trends with regards to content creation, influencers and live show productions
- Ability to set goals and evaluate performance against them
