Director of Investor Relations (Team17 Group PLC)

Team17 Group plc has gone through rapid growth particularly since IPO in 2018, but also over it’s 30 years history. We are now a Group of businesses across 3 counties with 5 hub locations but with 3 locations in the UK. Revenues in 2021 were £91m with adjusted EBITDA of £35m with anticipated significant growth in 2022 from the core and acquired businesses.
The Group has an excellent shareholder base and saw its Market Cap grow from sub £200m @ IPO to above £1bn before recent market conditions adjustments to now be c£0.7bn.
The Group team is based in Nottingham but operates under a hybrid model, mostly remotely.
The overall growth strategy is to combine organic growth with selected M&A.
Requirements
With the historical growth, appeal to wider investor base and ongoing M&A as a core part of the growth strategy, Team17 now have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Investor Relations to play a key role to support the CFO/CEO and Board. We are flexible on location however, expected to operate from the Nottingham base at regular times as well as the other locations (Manchester/Wakefield, Dublin and Dusseldorf). This role will be a pivotal member within the Team, focusing on a wide variety of duties alongside the IR activities supporting and advising corporate, operations, ESG and M&A/analytics across the Group.
This exciting role will provide the successful individual the opportunity to influence and lead a critical element of our growing business taking us to the next level of our strategic growth plans.
What you will do:
IR
- Create a robust overall investor relations strategy and framework
- Maintain an investor relations calendar including results planning, participation at IR events, corporate roadshows, awards and dinners.
- Oversee and manage results planning and communications
- Help CEO, CFO and others with Investor presentations and event preparation
- Summarise and report on pier group corporations.
- Work with Company Secretarial, legal support and external advisors to ensure compliance on regulatory matters
- Lead and help prepare the Company’s Annual Report
M&A / Analytics
- Analyse and present financial trends, market dynamics, competitor behaviour, and other factors that could impact the business
- Analyse competitor info and benchmark Team17 activities against them.
- Refine and develop key performance indicators to be used in the business
- Participate in due diligence activities in respect of company acquisitions
- Generate models to assess the impact of potential acquisitions on the Group
- Conduct class tests on potential acquisitions
How you will do it:
IR
- Be the primary point of contact for brokers and analysts in supporting them with information and guidance on Team17
- Be the primary point of contact for existing investors to provide and maintain regular communication and Investor relations through presentations, in-person meetings and calls
- Develop and maintain relationships with new potential investors and respond to their requests and interests
- Research and analyse potential investors, competitors and other market dynamics
- Interact and manage relationships with equity research analysts
- Develop investor confidence and belief in the company’s vision and strategy for delivering shareholder value
ESG Activities
- Working with the CFO and ESG manager to drive the ESG agenda across the Group
- Interface with the investor community (holders and non-holders) as appropriate to ensure effective ESG communication and updates
M&A/Analytics
- Work with the Group Strategy Director to provide insights on market activity and present them to the leadership team
- Work with the executive team to conduct analyses on the operations for the company for the purpose of generating actionable insights.
- Assist in drafting corporate communications on M&A
Requirements
Degree or Masters in business, finance, accounting or other related field.
Experience dealing with investors and a proven ability to create positive relations in the investor community
Strong understanding of corporate law particularly in securities, filings and disclosure requirements
Deep understanding of key metrics for companies in the games and interactive media industries
Expertise in financial modeling and valuation methods
Strong understanding of market trends, competitor activities, industry dynamics and customer direction
High attention to detail and ability to deliver under pressure and to deadlines
Superb written and verbal communication skills
