Summary:
The Director of Strategy will work directly with the Chief Strategy Officer and the Strategy team. They will also interface with the CEO, the senior leadership team, other executives from various functional groups, and the Board. The Director will play a key role in identifying and evaluating strategic growth and development opportunities – both organic and inorganic. M&A analysis is a key part of the role as is the construction of business models to evaluate ROI potential for new business initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Research and evaluate market potential – both in the U.S. and internationally
- Develop business plans to support the development of new product and business initiatives
- Be a thought partner to senior leaders within the organization to identify and evaluate growth vectors
- Manage M&A evaluation – conduct diligence, seek cross-functional input as required, and manage valuation analysis
- Work closely with senior management and teams across Curriculum, Content, Production, Marketing, Finance, Innovation, and Business Development to develop and formulate near and long term strategic plans
- Manage complex projects with minimal direction
Required Qualifications:
- Experience at a top-tier investment bank and/or consulting firm – valuation expertise is a must
- Excellent analytical, financial modeling, research, and project management skills
- Proven ability to present complex information succinctly and communicate effectively
- High level of intellectual curiosity and comfort with ambiguity
- A passion for the potential of digital innovation to positively impact how kids learn
- Strong team orientation and exceptional interpersonal skills – ability to manage cross-functional “pop-up” teams that are required for project-based work
- Master’s in Business Administration
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the education technology or broader education sector
