Director, Performance Marketing

Gearbox Publishing is seeking an experienced Performance Marketing professional to join our team and recruit, manage, and lead their own team of digital marketing specialists across multiple disciplines including Digital Advertising, Web Development, SEO, and CRM. The Performance Marketing team will be responsible for the growth and activation strategy of our first-party customer database as well as working closely with the brand marketing team to develop, execute, and optimize comprehensive digital advertising plans designed to maximize ROAS for our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the recruitment, build out, strategy, and management of the Performance Marketing team, responsible for:
    • Establishing and delivering strategy to grow, retain, and activate our first-party customer database and programs (SHiFT)
    • Working with the brand marketing team to develop product webpages and landing pages designed to understand user behavior, inform market strategy, and optimize conversions
    • Working with the brand marketing team to develop, improve, and execute data-driven paid digital advertising campaigns designed to maximize awareness, purchase intent, and sales for our products throughout their lifecycles
    • Establishing clear campaign KPIs, tracking campaign progress, and generating stakeholder reports that clearly communicate progress against daily, weekly, and monthly targets
    • Managing global and product performance marketing budgets and invoice reconciliation with finance and accounting teams
    • Working with internal legal counsel to ensure that all performance marketing activities are follow global consumer privacy laws and best practices
    • Ensuring that all performance marketing activities are following global ratings boards guidelines
    • Creating and executing customer CRM journeys and email marketing campaigns
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement digital advertising, CRM, and audience growth tools, technologies, and best practices designed to drive measurable marketing success
  • Instill vision, excitement, and next-level thinking across the Performance Marketing team
  • Analyze and evaluate performance marketing efforts to identify actionable insights to implement for future campaigns

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in performance marketing, analytics, or customer relationship management roles
  • Deep knowledge of paid search, display advertising, SEO, and social media advertising tools such as Adwords, Facebook, Twitter
  • Deep understanding of fundamental digital marketing metrics, including web analytics and performance marketing attribution, especially in the video game space
  • Experience in CRM tools such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Able to interpret, articulate, and present campaign analytics to various stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Highly organized with outstanding attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and collaborative teammate

  • Experience with building or leading Performance Marketing teams
