Director, Mobile Business Development
Location: US, Canada, UK
PlayStation Studios is looking for a Director of Mobile Business Development. This is a unique opportunity to be a leader in a new team within PlayStation Studios, by driving key strategic deals and partnerships, and representing the group within the mobile gaming industry. The ideal candidate will have experience with strategic negotiations and analysis, a great product sense, and be well-known and respected in the industry. As the business development leader, you will be responsible for establishing the foundations of our partnerships, defining the right rules of engagement, supporting internal teams like Corp Dev, Corporate Strategy, Legal and Studios in working with external companies.
We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in negotiations, analytics, strategic problem-solving skills, and excellent communication. A strong history in account management, analysis and contract negotiations is required.
Major responsibilities:
- Define business strategy and tactics for the nascent mobile organization
- Drive proactive deal sourcing, including fostering strong relationships with external and internal partners
- Own a tight and rigorous evaluation process with robust strategic rationale, clear decision criteria, and in-depth analysis
- Represent PlayStation studios in the mobile gaming industry by attending events, and being the primary point of contact for external partners
- Build and manage relationships with leaders within PlayStation Studios and across SIE.
- Build and lead a motivated and driven team
Required qualifications:
- 10+ years of business development / corporate strategy / developer relations experience
- 10+ years of experience working for game publishers, game developers and/or gaming industry clients (publisher/developer)
- A broad network with senior leadership among mobile game publishers, developers, and tools
- Experience with publishing, strategic and corporate deals
- Demonstrated knowledge of the mobile gaming value chain, from concept to publishing
- Solid understanding of mobile gaming product management
- Strategic, quantitative, and financial modeling skills
- Exceptional interpersonal & communication skills and a history of developing relationships with key partners including senior executives
- Strong project management skills and proven ability to lead a cross-functional team in a large organization
- International work experiences with ability to work with diverse cultures and to tailor work style and messaging to globally distributed management teams
- Strong team manager with a reputation for extraordinary people management and development
