Your Mission
As a member of the Internal Communications team at ABK, the Director, HR Corporate Communications is part of a global function whose mission is to:
- Develop compelling content that explains our strategy and helps every employee understand their role in our mission
- Align our people around our culture, values, and business goals so they can deliver for our players and feel like this is the best place to have an epic career
- Champion our purpose of serving players and promote pride within the organization
Together, the Internal Communications team accomplishes our mission by:
- Ensuring the timely communication of news and information to employees, including a central source
- Continuously evolving and maintaining IC tools, processes (central editorial calendar), and channels (employee intranet, newsletter)
- Facilitating a trusted, two-way dialogue between executives and employees
- Driving awareness of and participation in major initiatives tied to workplace satisfaction (Culture, DE&I, CSR)
- Communicating HR (and Finance, IT, Marketing, Legal) program/policy changes and initiatives to employees
- Helping to manage Issues & Crisis Communications as required
- Maintaining a global dashboard on the overall effectiveness of IC and employee engagement across the enterprise and within BUs and Geos
Additionally, the Director, HR Corporate Communications has responsibility for:
- Driving executive communication from the Chief People Officer (CPO), including building plans and drafting messages/vehicles from her to employees on critical activities or initiatives; drafting talking points to prepare for meetings with groups of employees; and uncovering opportunities to build thought leadership storytelling from the CPO/ABK to current/prospective employees and the industry
- Working closely with the CPO and the HR leadership team to build campaigns for the rollout of company-wide communications plans for initiatives and programs including change management, performance management, and key employee experiences
- Provides collaborative guidance and advice on integrated communication strategies to build employee morale, productivity, retention, and policy compliance; includes a holistic messaging and engagement strategy for key initiatives around employee experience, engagement, and career progression
- Learn the voice of the CPO and draft communication from her office to the HR function and/or employees as appropriate, including organization and policy announcements, emails, blogs, and video scripts
- Suggest thought leadership and social content for respective and current employees from the CPO or members of her leadership team related to timely, relevant topics
- Bring an understanding of employee populations built on creative mindset and culture to proactively suggest and routinely uncover opportunities to extend the opportunity for 2-way dialogue, ongoing cadence of stories that bring to life the opportunities and benefits of working at ABK
- Build a cohesive presence for HR initiatives, resources and information sharing across all internal channels in the context of the IC content/channel strategy, including Gig alerts and content that highlights a focus on our people, players, and purpose
- Support the Communications team as the liaison into HR for identifying and vetting employees to highlight in internal/external storytelling
- Support HR to define a strategy for the continued migration of HR policies to the new Hub as well as creating a space that reflects the vision of inspiring personal growth through personalized and informative content
- Provides guidance and coaching to the HR leadership team related to change management and communication strategies, assists with challenges, planning, and effective channel strategies to reach audiences
- Promotes and reports on milestones and activities such as tenure anniversaries, achievements, awards, and promotions.
- Maintain and continuously update to reflect the evolving company narrative the new HR Communications toolkit/templates
Player Profile
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a communications role, preferably internal or crisis communication
- Experience providing counsel to senior and C-level executives around strategy, crises responses and cultural transformation
- Ability to build, lead and mentor a team of 2-3 people
- Collaborate across businesses and lead cross-functional projects for the Company
- Experience partnering with labor relations teams
- Excellent multi-tasking skills, able to set own priorities, and work under tight deadline pressure
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; including editing and copywriting
- A knack for storytelling, with the ability to turn complex information into engaging content
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to pivot and move forward in ambiguous situations
- Adaptable and humble, willing to take on projects big and small
- Ability to work toward the big picture, while still focusing on the details
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, English or relevant field, masters preferred
