This role will be part of the Growth Strategy team that is responsible for title P&L, business growth strategy, and commercial operations globally. We partner across the organization to align on business objectives and then execute against them with efficiency. This role will focus on the high-profile NBA2K franchise.
What We Need
We are looking for an experienced Director who will be instrumental in driving the Americas business to hit financial targets, working on new strategies and analyzing opportunities for franchise expansion.
You will have proven credentials in defining strategies and driving growth of a consumer product or service across multiple territories. You will combine rigorous market and performance analysis alongside formulation of creative short-to-long-term strategies, and a drive to see them implemented. You are well experienced and love working in a fast-paced, consumer-focused technology company.
You are forward-thinking, passionate, and hands-on, willing to dive into details and get things done, while not losing sight of the bigger picture. You are super comfortable working with a range of junior to senior stakeholders.
What You Will Do
Track and drive financial performance of the NBA2K franchise in the Americas
- Independently provide insights into NBA2K performance in the Americas on a weekly, monthly and quarterly level to a wide range of stakeholders, from global leadership to local marketing teams
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Sales, Live Services, Product Development, Analytics) to identify and drive ideas to help exceed operational and financial targets
- Review and approve pricing and promotional plans for the NBA2K franchise in the Americas
Define global and locally relevant growth strategies
- Identify, define and drive innovative commercial strategies that will drive growth of the NBA2K business across the Americas, through locally relevant new business models, pricing strategies, partnerships, content and events
- Independently build business cases to analyze new strategic ideas, through rigorous analysis of internal data and market benchmarks
- Clearly present findings to a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership
- Collaborate with various functional teams to turn ideas in reality and drive execution
- Define and drive locally relevant migration strategies that maximize retention of our player base across titles
- Contribute on high-impact global growth initiatives
Who We Believe Will Be an Outstanding Fit:
- 7-10 years relevant work experience, including 3+ years within a strategy, commercial or business development role in a fast-moving digital business (e.g. video games, e-commerce, subscription businesses, or other consumer internet)
- Other relevant prior experience could be in commercial operations, strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity or in-house strategy
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of study (e.g. business, economics, (computer) science, mathematics)
- Proven track record of turning strategies into reality and driving execution with cross-functional teams
- Integrity in working with others across various levels and personality types, and ability to successfully navigate a global organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience of clearly presenting findings
- Ability to independently build business cases / financial models in Excel from scratch
- High attention to detail and, commitment to quality and accuracy
- Proficiency in SQL is nice to have, otherwise a willingness to learn
- Experience working in the video games industry is not required, but familiarity with gaming is a plus
