The Role

Lumeto is searching for an IT Support Technician to assist in the installation & configuration process and support our Virtual Reality hardware and software units. This role will have you working closely with our Device & Logistics Coordinator under the Live Operations Team to help get devices set up and ready for testing events and deployments.

As a Device & Logistics Technician you will procure, install and configure VR and computer hardware. You will also provide device support to our customers and diagnose, repair, maintain and track hardware and software components.

The ideal candidate has a background in IT and logistics, with prior experience setting up hardware, updating & deploying software to remote devices, responding to support tickets and troubleshooting devices & systems, as well as experience with Virtual Reality headsets (Oculus Quest 2).

Key Responsibilities:

Device Management & Logistics

  • Purchase, receive and inventory new hardware
  • Manage and track device inventory (incoming/outgoing)
  • Package, ship and track delivery of ready units to client sites
  • Coordinate shipping and return of units
  • Prepare units and logistics for on-site events
  • Prepare necessary demo units for testing events
  • Monitor software, hardware and network requirements
  • Prepare weekly supply chain status reports (request > source > prepare > deliver > support > return)
  • Prepare weekly dashboard reports on deployment success and status

Device Installation

  • Install and configure hardware and software components
  • Install remote management software on new headsets
  • Perform QA tests on new hardware and software for go-live
  • Push build updates to devices remotely through VMware
  • Update systems to enable compatible software

Device Support

  • Assist with remote onboarding and pairing of devices with field users
  • Respond and resolve customer and internal device support tickets
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Troubleshoot returned or damaged units; process Oculus hardware claims
  • Support LiveOps related IT setup such as network connectivity troubleshooting
  • Travel to client sites and provide technical and operational support for events
  • Record common technical issues and consolidate into FAQ documentation, and the respective workaround solutions and/or updates as the issues are no longer applicable
