Development Operations Manager, Global Broadcast

The Blizzard Entertainment Global Broadcast & Events team is looking for a Development Operations Manager. The ideal candidate must be a strong communicator, have great documentation and organizational skills. This candidate should be versed in Broadcast technologies, database inaugurations, and application development. Tenacity, self-direction and follow-up skills are a must, as well as, the ability to anticipate issues and find effective solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a team and adapting to changing platform needs. A successful candidate for this position will have the drive and desire to be on the cutting edge of tech and have a desire to be part of a growing and demanding industry.

Responsibilities

• Build platform roadmaps and architecture
• Manage timelines for product delivery
• Understanding of broadcast tools and infrastructure
• Work with Engineering teams to write and develop internal tools for managing broadcast services
• Create and maintain CI/CD methodology for rapid platform management
• Manage and maintain on premise and cloud-based services
• Integrate project management methodology for clear reporting of platform projects

Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience with software and platform development
• Experience managing a team’s workflow and timelines for deployment
• Understand high-availability concepts and how to deploy HA applications
• Familiarity with scripting languages
• Comfortable with git, Jenkins, Stash and other code repositories
• Server and service monitoring with Nagios, Grafana or similar
• Understanding of firewall, switch, and network configuration and debugging
• Understanding of automated deployment tools like Cloud Formation and containerization
• Familiar with cloud-based database technologies
• Ability to manage automated deployment in a CI/CD environment
• Good understanding of service operations and support
• Understanding of AWS technologies
• Demonstrate clear ability to grow and manage a platform services team

Pluses

• DB Server administration experience
• Familiarity with cloud management tools
• Experience with CDN management
• Visio Experience
• Passion for games and or eSports
