Developer Support Engineer II - Multiplayer Suite

The opportunity
As a Developer Support Engineer II, you will be working closely with and supporting some of the biggest names in gaming today. You will also be a part of both the local and distributed team of DSEs covering all timezones across a 24/7 remit, being the first point of contact for our user’s technical needs. As well as playing a key part in keeping some of the most prestigious games operational at all times, adept at responding swiftly but articulately to our customer requests, as well as solving challenging technical issues on their behalf or escalating to other senior technical teams where vital.

What you’ll be doing
- Work with large game publishers and studios in a one on one setting solving issues, often via video conferencing
- Respond to sophisticated tickets from the rest of our DSE team, navigating difficult scenarios that may require you to handle across multiple teams
- Work with systems where you might not have full context, rapidly growing your knowledge and knowing when to ask for help
- Diagnosing and performing root cause analysis on both incidents and customer raised problems
- Actively coach and mentor others on the DSE team to help share knowledge
What we’re looking for
- Technical experience with hosting/IaaS/cloud products and services in a customer-facing technical support capacity
- Deep experience with Linux and Windows server administration
- Highly productive - Known by others for getting things done!
- Comfortable being part of a regular on-call rotation supporting our customers and internal teams
You might also have
- A keen curiosity about programming or tinkering with your own code-based projects!
- Experience working in the gaming industry, ideally backend systems for online games
- Previous work with game engines such as Unity
