The Diablo 4 design team is a tremendous group of some of the best designers and storytellers in the industry. This opening is for a Design Manager that will work “one on one” with the designers on the Diablo 4 team to help promote their individual growth and success.

In this role, you will work with another design manager to help improve the day-to-day life of the design team. You will be responsible for helping designers define and clarify their individual professional goals, motivating and supporting the team, working with design leads to evaluate designers’ performance, and providing coaching and counseling as needed. The ideal candidate has a background in creative leadership and understands how to identify with and engage our dedicated, passionate, and highly creative team.

Covid-19 Hiring Update: We’ve transitioned to a work-from-home model and we’re continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position. We understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore possible interim options.

What you will do…

• Champion work / life balance for the design team
• Promote, contribute to, and participate in our culture of inclusion and diversity
• Provide 1:1 coaching with several dozen individual designers to ensure career goals, team alignment, and team health are maintained
• Help develop and make clear paths for designers’ career development and facilitate performance reviews for the team
• Maintain collaborative partnerships with the other design manager, design leads, design production, and our HR manager
• Boost communication and facilitate feedback between designers and design leads
• Be a consistent, steady advocate for the people in design, helping with team decisions and goal planning
• Partner with the production department, design leads, and recruiting to assist in staffing and hiring
• Maintain familiarity with the game’s design
