Your Mission
The Data Scientist will develop and operationalize machine learning (ML) models as part of our Game Science and Machine Learning initiatives, including segmentation, decision tool development, and predictive modeling.
You will also be a machine learning expert on the team, you will demonstrate your experience in steering data-driven discussions, improving internal processes, and communicating results to technical and non-technical colleagues. A trusted member of an established team of data scientists and ML engineers, passionate about ensuring player satisfaction in our games. You will accomplish this by:
Responsibilities:
- Building scalable machine learning models to understand our players and their interactions with the game
- Designing and maintaining scalable, efficient, production-quality DS tools to guide operations, improve efficiency, and measure performance
- Researching and implementing novel DS approaches for new problems
- Translating requirements from cross-disciplinary teams in Game Operations, Marketing, CRM, and Business Planning into data solutions
- Synthesizing disparate data, identifying and working around broken data, and investigating every possibility until you have a thorough solution
Player Profile
Minimum Requirements:
- M.S. in Mathematics, Machine Learning, Data Science, Biological Sciences, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, or other quantitative field
- 1+ years experience as a data scientist
- General data science experience, i.e. regression, classification, and clustering algorithms, time-series analysis, Bayesian methods, experimentation, causal analysis, and survival analysis
- Experience with prototype-to-production engineering in Python, including following standard processes such as source control, proper documentation, library packaging, versioning, testing, containerization, CI/CD, and task scheduling
- Proficient with SQL; Experience with Spark a plus
- Professional habits around model validation, testing, and tracking
- Solid understanding of statistics, e.g. statistical power analysis, significance testing, t-tests, ANOVA
- Engineering experience in at least one cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience with experimental design and A/B testing analysis
Bonus Points:
- Ph. D. or equivalent experience with peer-reviewed publications and a consistent record of self-guided research
- Experience applying ML solutions to time series data
- Video game passion with a solid understanding of the gameplay mechanics in Call of Duty and Warzone
- Experience with STAN or other Bayesian modeling software
- Familiarity with marketing and user acquisition in the video game or entertainment industry

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $71,300.00 - $131,906.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
