Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Product/Monetisation teams to deliver insights that drive business decisions.
• Promote a hypothesis-driven insights culture. Ensure that key learnings are captured from new feature and content releases; consult on A/B test setup and analysis, as well as appropriate statistical methods (e.g. sample size estimation, handling pre-allocation bias).
• Design and build internal self-service experimentation and analytics tooling.
• Work with data engineers to ensure proper dimensions and metrics are incorporated into our pipelines. Develop a thorough understanding of relevant internal and external data sources.
• Collaborate with other data scientists to develop and promote best practices in analytics and experimentation across the company.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject or equivalent experience.
• Typically 2-5 years relevant work experience.
• Experience articulating product questions, identifying and querying big datasets (SQL) and using statistics to arrive at an answer.
• A comprehensive understanding of statistics (e.g. hypothesis testing, sampling, probability distributions) and experience in applying these concepts in real-life problems.
• Experience programming using python or R.
• AB testing experience, preferably in an online context.
• Excellent communication skills to understand business needs of cross-functional stakeholders, deliver findings and recommendations, as well as to drive collaboration.
• Ability to own analytics work from formulation of hypotheses to communicating actionable insights.
