Data Scientist II, AGS Central Business Intelligence

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join our team in developing a bot detection engine and help detect fraudulent patterns in our games.

As a Data Scientist in Amazon Games, you will develop algorithms and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning models at scale to distinguish human activity from automated bots. You will conduct ad-hoc investigations to respond to emerging threats, and collaborate with product managers, engineers, and the customer success team to implement the best solutions.

About the team
The Games, Central Business Intelligence Team is a group of talented and collaborative Data Scientists. Together with Data Engineering and Data Science we support Amazon's entire portfolio of live and upcoming games. We're gamers who love using data to understand "What's fun" and bring more of that to our players.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Irvine, CA, USA | San Diego, CA, USA | Seattle, WA, USA

Basic Qualifications

- 2+ years of data scientist experience
- 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance experience
- 3+ years of Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops) experience
- Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language
- Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $111,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
