Job Description
Ubisoft, a global leader in the video games and entertainment software industry, is seeking a full-time Data Privacy Officer for the US and Latam territories. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and to work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment. This position is based in San Francisco, CA, and reports to Associate General Counsel, Global DPO based in Paris.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the collaboration with Ubisoft’s business and production teams in the US and Latham territories to develop privacy-by-design strategies that advance Ubisoft’s worldwide goals.
- In particular, develop and provide strategic and practical orientations with respect to privacy laws in connection with digital business, consumer targeting, acquisition and engagement, as well as player journey.
- Anticipate, ensure and be responsible for compliance with applicable privacy laws in the territory (including COPPA, FTC Act). Ensure adherence to our multi-jurisdictional privacy policies.
- Foster a data protection culture within Ubisoft and help to implement key elements of the different regulations with an innovative approach.
- Develop internal awareness, recruit and lead a network of internal privacy champions.
- Lead the relationships and lobbying initiatives with data protection and consumer protection authorities in the US and Latam.
Qualifications
- JD degree from an accredited law school, and a member of the California State Bar.
- Deep knowledge and expertise of US/Latam privacy laws as well as COPPA. GDPR understanding is a plus.
- Deep understanding of the ad-tech ecosystem and consumer engagement
- Interested in user experience (UX)
- Experience in leading relationships with governmental authorities
- 10 years of relevant data privacy experience, including prior in-house as a DPO and law firm experience.
- Team oriented with excellent legal and business-oriented approach
- Experience in an international environment is a plus.
- Video game player is a plus.
- Proficiency (written and oral) in French is a plus.
