About the job
Role Overview
As a Data Analyst within our organisation, you'll play a pivotal role in synthesising data into actionable insights for both our Product (game) teams and central business functions.
You'll craft datasets, metrics, reports, and visualisations that inform strategic decisions and drive our company's success. Your work will involve analysing a broad spectrum of data, from internal and external sources, to support business stakeholders and influence the direction of our products and strategies.
What sets this role apart is the opportunity to collaborate closely with senior leaders, game designers, product owners, and data engineers, ensuring that analytics best practices are woven into the fabric of our game development and business operations.
You'll own the analytics process end-to-end, from data source identification to delivering insightful outputs, and designing processes for ongoing support and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support business stakeholders within the Product (game) teams, as well as central business functions (such as HR), by creating datasets, metrics, reports, visualisations for presentations, models, forecasts, automation scripts and documentation using SQL, Looker and Google Sheets. Analyse, evaluate and form independent judgments on the outputs. Work with a wide variety of data from different sources - internal and external, structured and unstructured.
- Work with game designers, feature designers and product owners to develop and report on key in-game events and ensure best practices are met in analytics development.
- Understand stakeholder teams' data / analytics requirements and work with the Data Engineering team and dev team as needed to deliver the required outputs, owning the process end-to-end from data source identification to delivery.
- Design and implement processes to ensure outputs are continually supported and maintained. Investigate any data issues and address questions that are raised by stakeholders.
- Work together with other data team members to ensure consistency in metric definitions, implementation of analysis/BI best practices and efficient use of data outputs.
- Create clear and detailed documentation on the deliverables.
- Manage timelines to meet deadlines and communicate progress to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Advise stakeholders on use of data tools and analysis / visualisation methodologies. Contribute to the Data Science, Business Intelligence and Data Engineering community through sharing knowledge and mentoring.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Required:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject or equivalent experience.
- Substantial professional experience in an analytical role.
- Proficient to advanced skills with SQL, as well as Google Sheets or Excel.
- Experience building dashboards in a visualisation tool such as Power BI, Looker or Tableau.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Business-level English proficiency, both written and spoken.
- Ability to self-direct, analyse, evaluate and form independent judgments.
- Ability to effectively interact and build relationships with senior management and stakeholders.
- Commercially savvy with ability to exercise discretion with respect to highly confidential/sensitive information.
Nice to have skills, knowledge and expertise
- LookML development experience.
- Development in Python or R.
- Experience working with user activity and event-level data.
- Foundational knowledge of mobile gaming and ad-tech businesses.
- Experience in Data engineering: data pipelining, APIs & database migrations.
- Experience working for an international company.
