Location: Remote, prefer in Santa Monica, CA
Your Mission
As the Curriculum Manager, Learning & Development – Level Up University, you will design, implement, and scale a blended training program focused on providing candidates with the opportunity to build game development and business capabilities. Examples may include, but are not limited to, engineering, art, design and production. You’ll work closely with company, studio and business unit executives, leaders and subject matter experts, in addition to industry-leading external partners, to create innovative curriculum. You will also be responsible for b uilding and maintaining relationships with targeted stakeholder groups across multiple brands and studios. The ideal candidate will be able to drive a complex curriculum strategy centered in adult learning theory & practice and experiential, iterative design, and focused on providing best-in-class learning. We are changing the game in attracting, recruiting and developing talent, and we are looking for the right person to be an integral part in this program’s creation and long-term success!
Responsibilities
Curriculum Development:
- In collaboration with the Dean of Level Up University and business leadership, build curriculum to support newly-hired candidates in vital technical, art, design and business skills.
- Align to the needs and scale of multiple employee populations, including (but not limited to) our game development studios, engineering teams and supporting business teams across Activision, Blizzard and King globally.
- Ensure the Level Up University curriculum strategy aligns with the overarching L&D and business strategy / objectives while also delivering on results through a multi-year curriculum roadmap across different tracks and expertise domains.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (i.e., talent teams, people analytics, tech teams, etc.) to deliver meaningful, cross-functional onboarding training across the enterprise.
Academy and Learning & Development Strategy:
- In collaboration with the Head of Learning and Development and business leadership, develop a strategy for the ongoing upskilling and reskilling academy structure for Activision, Blizzard and King globally via the Level Up University program.
- Support the continued rollout and implementation of Level Up University with a focus on designing localized learning & development solutions that can scale to internal candidates in different disciplines.
Team Management:
- Ability to successfully lead a team of learning and development professionals
- Define, identify and hire learning and development consultants or internal resources to support the build and activation of Level Up University cohorts and iterations as necessary
Vendor Management
- In partnership with selected vendors, design and deploy learning and development programs, in addition to leading the development of blended learning options to support independent, classroom, and team-based instruction
- Identify and secure Learning and Development partners responsible for delivering programs, as well as monitor partner performance and attainment of contracted goals and outcomes
Learning and Development Measurement:
- Define measurement targets for strategic priorities and initiatives that support immediate and long-term business objectives and continuous learning for Level Up University and the ongoing upskilling/reskilling academy space
- Establish a learning and development measurement strategy that measures the value of all content, identifying trends and insights to make updates and improvements on an ongoing basis
- Direct program effectiveness by measuring and analyzing participant’s performance during the program, while also identifying (and improving) program inconsistencies and deficiencies
- Establish tracking and measurement approach, and govern progress to report status to business unit leaders
- When necessary, complete executive updates and program report outs for the curriculum.
- Create annual reports summarizing impact and progress, as well as recommend solutions to improve efficiency, cost effectiveness, potential learning gaps and anticipated needs
Success Factors
- Level Up University curriculum for cohort one is established and has a roadmap of additional tracks to be build for new cohorts .
- Developed strategy for scaling Level Up University content to broader audiences, both internal and potentially external.
- Level Up University meets or exceeds our currently designated commitments
Qualifications / Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 8+ years professional experience in corporate Learning and Development
- Proven expertise in instructional design especially in a corporate learning and development environment
- Knowledge of upskilling and reskilling vendors and external partners
- Demonstrated experience presenting to executives and gaining alignment among multiple stakeholders on enterprise-wide initiatives
- Expert in adult learning modalities and theory
- Strong project/program management, with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex and global programs, including project design and implementation, stakeholder management, and budget management
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end curriculum development, and presenting results to senior leadership
- Ability to manage and lead a team of both internal and external learning experts
- Consistent track record of using data to measure learning effectiveness, identify insights, and make updates/improvements.
- Able to work autonomously in a fast-paced work environment while completing multiple priorities
- A bias toward action and creative problem solving in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations and across organizational boundaries
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (i.e., PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and/or Learning Experience Platforms
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) in related subject area, or relevant certifications
