Summary:
The Curriculum Integration Specialist is responsible for creating information resources that facilitate use of Age of Learning products by a variety of customers and clients, but especially educators at classroom or district level. The person in this role will associate curriculum products with relevant district, state, and professional learning standards and will write and edit teacher- and parent-focused descriptions of activities, key words, and learning objectives. This person will work as part of a forward-thinking, innovative team, and will collaborate with other team members on correlation and implementation initiatives. The position calls for someone with working knowledge of educational standards, classification, taxonomies, and database search strategies. Qualified applicants will have careful attention to detail, possess basic technical and analytical skills, along with the ability to communicate information across a variety of teams. Previous experience in edtech or in a product-development environment is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Correlate Age of Learning curriculum products to a district, state, and professional standards
- Use standards-based correlations to create packages of learning products that meet the needs of school- and district-level clients, as well as national and international partner organizations
- Follow rule sets related to metadata creation and tagging
- Create and review searchable keyword and description data for educational activities including books, videos, games, assessments, and other learning objects
- Review and suggest modifications to the internal classification scheme so as to better meet the needs of customers and clients
- Work with stakeholders across multiple projects to understand information needs and requirements for products
- Collaborate on special projects ranging from curriculum integration and content curation to project management and activity design
Qualifications:
- 2+ working with classifications and descriptions of learning resources
- Familiarity with the formats and general content of the professional, state, and district educational standards and teaching guidelines
- Bachelor’s degree in education or other related field (additional graduate degree preferred)
- Experience working agile environments; familiarity with JIRA a plus
- Basic experience with database administration and metadata creation
- Significant experience with Microsoft Excel, especially familiarity with formulas and data analysis; Basic understanding of SQL a plus
- Experience or familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or MetaBase a plus
- Expert-level writing and editorial skills
