Creative Director

Job Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative and passionate Creative Director to join the Square Enix Mobile team! Based in London, the team are responsible for producing titles in conjunction with external development partners based on Square Enix’s hit franchises as well as external IP.

The successful candidate will oversee the art and design disciplines across a portfolio of games being published by the London studio. Bringing both a drive for best-in-class quality and the indefinable magic that makes our favourite games truly crowd-pleasing, the Creative Director will be setting the standards for what good looks like in mobile gaming. You will work closely with project stakeholders at all levels while nurturing the relationships with our partner studios to ensure key goals are met as well as driving efficiency in a people-first environment, making a great team even better.

Requirements

Key Deliverables:

• Form a strong collaborative relationship with the Product discipline
• Working with studios to find the appropriate gameplay and art direction
• Ensuring gameplay and artistic quality
• Performing due diligence on potential studio partners
• Support setting milestone goals and reviewing submitted content
• Identifying gameplay trends and understanding future quality standards to ensure titles in development will be competitive upon release
• Working closely with partner development studios to ensure their creative staff, pipelines, solutions and process are adequate to support each game vision
• Contributing design elements to executive presentations

Knowledge & Experience:

Essential:

• Experience working on multiple live ops mobile games concurrently
• Manage and mentor a multidiscipline team of designers and artists
• Deep knowledge of game design and art methodologies, pipelines and technical requirements.
• Solid understanding of the mobile gaming space, as well as the technologies and general processes required in game production.
• Able to draft excellent project briefs, content specifications, and diligent documentation.
• Establish review processes within the team and key stakeholders
• Understand modern best practice development and the different phases associated with game production (concept, pre-production, production etc.)
• Experience developing mobile games from concept to launch.
• Strong project and people management experience with a servant-leadership style

Desirable:

• A proven track record of working on successful and published free-to-play mobile titles.
• Familiar with Atlassian products (Jira & Confluence)
