What you'll do

This key role is responsible for directing the game design and creative development objectives for the studio, which is responsible for market adaptations from our larger Aristocrat games portfolio and new iGaming specific titles within the Anaxi business. This will include working with the Product Management organization to collaboratively define effective product segments and strategies that underpin an industry leading portfolio. This person would be responsible for directing the product vision and overseeing all elements of the game design, math, art, sound, and all overall game aesthetic. This person would work collaboratively with the final production teams responsible for software development, platform infrastructure, program management, and quality assurance to assure products are delivered on time and on quality They will provide on-going mentoring and development of staff, building capabilities to ensure production of consistently high-performing, high quality original games that address the worlds markets. Focus of activity will be in iGaming and RMG with volumes adjusted across other release channels (land or social) as required.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Plans and directs the work of game design, art, and audio staff to ensure successful creation and delivery of games to the marketplace by:
- making key design and management decisions for the team
- managing resource allocation and utilisation
- guaranteeing quality of deliveries
- developing and mentoring staff
Responsible for maintaining a positive and effective team culture that promotes development and retention of top game talent
Responsible for providing regular performance reviews, goals and objectives and development plans to the entire creative team
Monitors progress of projects, confers with project office, and reviews reports to see that development is progressing according to schedule and within budgetary guidelines
Provides innovation management (effectively harnesses creativity of others) and effective team building
Reports to the Studio Leader on a regular basis, working closely with them and other senior personnel to establish long-range operating goals for the team
Communicates effectively, tactfully, and comfortably with all levels of personnel within the organisation – internal and external to D&D
Recommends methods, processes and structures for improvement based on delivery needs and capabilities
Builds, develops, and manages the team to accomplish game development goals efficiently and authorizes recruitment of additional resource as required
Helps build the strategy for Anaxi's slot game & meta feature content
Creates overall quality standards and practices across game design, art, and audio disciplines and ensures adherence
Gather competitive intelligence and reviews for competitive opportunities and deficiencies, formulate and implement effective ideas and innovative strategies and incorporate them into studio's plans
Coordinate closely with IP strategy team to develop IP that protects our products and avoids infringement of other’s IP

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience in Game Design & Mathematics with strong understanding of slots (land or online)
5+ years of experience working with global cross-functional teams, especially project managers, studio leads, product managers, functional discipline leads, and key stakeholders
Exceptional understanding of mathematical concepts in gaming
Demonstrated track record in developing people and motivating teams to accomplish goals
Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and tools in gaming
Strong understanding of visual approaches and tools in gaming
Strong leadership characteristics and ability to motivate others to achieve results
Strong team player with ability to build a high performing team
Ability to think innovatively
Able to organize and manage multiple priorities
Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
Consistently meets deadlines and expectations when shipping expectations to other departments
