KRAFTON is rapidly growing and seeking a Counsel who will be full-time in Los Angeles area or the Bay Area, California. As Legal Counsel, you will be part of a fast-growing legal department and will report directly to the Head of Global Legal.
Trademarks/Commercial Transactions Attorney
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other members of the Intellectual Property (IP) team to identify, register, protect, and enforce trademarks and domain names
- Assess and manage risks in connection with trademark and domain name disputes
- Review and update company branding and marketing guidelines
- Train and advise Product and Marketing teams on IP and trademark matters in connection with products, licensing, merchandising, marketing campaigns and consumer-facing content
- Draft, negotiate, advise, and review trademark and other IP-related agreements including: licenses and services agreements, collaboration agreements, and influencer agreements
- Draft, negotiate, advise, and review other commercial agreements including: services, marketing, licensing, technology and data privacy-related agreements
- Provide hands-on counsel to all levels of the organization and assist in managing the operations of the legal department globally
- Ensure that company communications, contracts, documents, filings and press releases undergo legal review
- Review changes to law and regulations and advise regarding any impact to the business
- Other relevant legal duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- J.D. degree and membership in at least one U.S. state bar (California Bar preferred)
- 3-5 years of legal experience as a practicing attorney (including at a law firm or in-house experience)
- Experience with clearing, protecting and enforcing global trademarks
- Experience with videogame or software technology matters
- Knowledge of Korean a plus, but not required
- Strong sense of customer support and excellent interpersonal/communication skills
- Team player, analytical, detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
