Job Description
Ubisoft, a leading producer, publisher, and distributor of interactive entertainment products worldwide, is currently seeking a paid intern for its San Francisco NCSA Communications Department. The program will run for at least three months and candidates can expect to work between 30-40 hours a week.
This person should be highly motivated and well-organized, with an interest in Corporate Communications. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running and quickly make themselves an integral part of the larger Communications Team. Duties will vary greatly daily and will include researching speaking and award opportunities, reporting and analysis on news cycles, management of key contacts database, coordinating event logistics, staffing events, drafting internal external communications, research projects and more. This person will collaborate closely and communicate with both internal and external contacts.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on, practical experience and learn the necessary skills to succeed in the interactive entertainment industry. Interns will learn about the multiple facets of public relations in a creative, dynamic, and challenging environment. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Collect press clips and prepare coverage reports
- Prepare written press materials under the Corporate Communications team supervision
- Provide logistical and live support for internal and industry events
- Work with analytics to help drive comprehensive qualitative and quantitative recaps of press coverage
- Work as part of a team to help build on CSR and corporate initiatives
- Manage internal databases including speaking and awards
- Perform administrative and clerical duties including research projects, media database management, and product mailings
- Draft and oversee key communication material for press including: pitch letters, reviews material, event invitations, and asset delivery
- Collect and draft content for monthly internal newsletters and bulletins
- Work as part of a team to help foster partnerships and identify potential collaboration opportunities with external organizations
Qualifications
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Knowledge and interest in video game industry preferred
- Familiarity with PC applications and public relations tools: Microsoft Office Suite for Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Cision, etc.
- Strong, self-confident team member who motivates and builds trust with others both internally and externally
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong work ethic, including ability to own projects while organizing and prioritizing tasks against deadlines
- Must thrive in a fast-paced competitive environment
- Degree in communications, English, or marketing obtained or currently in progress
- Previous work or intern experience in a public relations/marketing communications role in a PR agency, in-house marketing department, or related marketing environment strongly preferred
