Content Strategist - Freelance
ustwo is an industry-leading digital product studio working across healthcare, automotive, mobility, retail, finance and loyalty verticals. Our work focuses around the mission of making a meaningful impact on the world and also being able to capture the imagination and interest of our teams of designers and developers.
We strongly believe diverse teams help us make better products, so we actively hire for cultural growth, welcoming people of all ages, stories and backgrounds.
THE ROLE
This would be a contract role for 2 months initially that may extend based on client needs. This will look to start between mid-march and beginning of April.
We are looking for a Content Strategist to join a strategic design team that is creating the digital content vision for one of the world’s largest and most famous retailers.
Working in a multi-disciplinary team, you will help identify best practices for digital content, analyse current and past performance of content and help devise and conduct research and tests that help us create new content recommendations and a vision for the client. You will be the expert in the team on how audiences relate to content and how this can support the client’s goals. You will be able to balance the strategic and executional parts of the project -- both helping with the analysis of the current state, and helping envision what could be in the future, based on audience-driven insights.
You should be able to comfortably talk to the client and team about a range of content formats and how they can support retailers. You will be able to cite real world examples of best practices for these.
While the project will create some demonstrator content to help bring the vision to life, this is not a role that will involve much actual content production. You should be confident and able to talk about the realities and issues surrounding content production to help support our recommendations to the client.
WHAT YOU'LL DO…
- Identify best practices for content in the retail sector and help the team and client understand where these may lead to opportunities
- Identify trends that may impact on best practice and help the team understand how this could impact the long-term vision for the client
- Help generate a picture of what is and isn’t currently working with the clients digital content across the customer journey
- Identify customer needs that can be supported or met with content and recommend how this could create improvements for the client
- Work with the team to create and conduct research and tests for online content in the client’s environment
- Work with the team to create a vision and demonstration of how this vision could come to life
- Make high-level recommendations about what the client will need to do with its content production practices
- Participate in workshops, research and testing sessions with stakeholders
- Evaluate and make recommendations on existing content and help product demonstration content to ensure quality
- Maintain awareness and mitigation of project risk
- Clearly present various stages of development, concepts and ideas to business owners, team members and stakeholders of all levels
- Understand the implications of publishing content and manage the associated risks
REQUIREMENTS
- You have a core strength analysing content at both a high level and at an optimisation level
- Ability to think critically whilst continuing to collaborate
- Proactive nature, strong attention to detail and knowledge of how high quality content is produced
- Ability to explain best practices and translate them into actionable recommendations and creative ideas for the team and client
- Strong knowledge of digital content ecosystems (on and off site, SEO, etc) and tools and techniques for measuring and evaluating content
- Experience using both qualitative and quantitative data to ‘test and learn’ about content
- Able to create content ideas based on customer needs and insights
- Experience in collaborating within multidisciplinary teams of designers, developers and product managers
- Deep empathy and an ability to think like a user
- Experienced at working within Agile/SCRUM/Kanban processes
- Tools agnostic mindset focused on outcomes not outputs
- You can think big whilst being detail oriented and delivery focused
- You are an excellent communicator, capable of inspiring colleagues and clients
- Provide timely feedback from your team to benefit project development and working culture and encourage the same in return
- Always eager to learn and to share knowledge
- Adaptable style. You know when to coach, direct and motivate.
