Content Director M/F

Job Description

Ubisoft Annecy is looking for a Content Director M/F to join the creative team in charge of a confidential AAA game development.

As Content Director, you will be involved in creating key features for the game. You will be responsible for the quality and the game content consistency.

In this context, your role and responsibilities will include :

• Collaborate with the Creative Director, Producer, the Game Director & associate, but also the World Director World and Leads, to define, structure and drive high quality content that supports the creative vision of the game;
• Design the world of online game with the artistic & creative vision of the project ;
• Plan and guide the game design such as levels, campaigns, quests, events and certain items;
• Supervise the World Team, act as a mentor;
• Support the features of your team with the Creative Director;
• Validate the quality of the content: the player's progress, the narrative charge, the game flow & pacing, the difficulty, as well as the consistency of all the mechanisms used to create content;
• Ensure a permanent artistic benchmark to bring more to the creativity of our game modes;
• Organize high quality of reviews to raise the achievement of the challenges of his team;
• Being the main interlocutor on the content for the different teams: marketing, game design, artistic, ...
• To be responsible for the final cut on all the Content, before validation by the Creative Director;
• Participate in research and optimization of tools and workflow for content creation.
• You can also manage game modes and define new creative concepts with the appropriate content and moods, as well as formalize concept boards that will be used by the creative team to create game concepts;

Globally, you ensure the creation and implementation of the content for all Design elements of your team. You will make sure the content corresponds to the creative vision of the game and complies with the quality expected.

Qualifications

You have previously worked in a similar position in AAA production or you have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in the video game industry as a Level Designer, developing AAA games (minimum 2 games AAA shipped)

Skills required :

• In-depth knowledge of the video game market and entertainment industry
• You have a strong ability to integrate, communicate and guide a creative vision (written and spoken) in English (French is a strong plus)
• In-depth understanding of content design processes: including areas such as level design, game design, narrative design, and game writing
• You are structured, sensitive to the coherence of the produced content and are force of proposal
• You have leadership and excellent communication skills
• Able to adapt to changes, you are results-oriented
• You are perfectly at ease in English and know how to adapt to a multicultural world
