Experienced Environment Concept Artist

We have a fantastic opportunity for a well-rounded and experienced Environment Concept Artist, to work on an exciting new project within our Total war franchise. This role is based at our studio in Horsham, West Sussex.
We are looking for a talented Senior Environment Concept Artist to join our team and deliver high quality concept art for the latest Total War title in development. You will have the opportunity to improve your skillset alongside some of the best creatives in the industry and shape the visuals of the gameplay world.

Key Responsibilities
You will be tasked with creating high-quality concept art based on a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter, with a primary focus on environments.
We are passionate about visual storytelling and rich worldbuilding and are seeking artists who craft concepts that are authentic to the subject matter while pushing the quality of the visuals.
You will be working in collaboration with the Art Director and actively engaging with the wider Art Department. Creating high quality, performant visuals in line with art direction for the project. As part of this role, you will be expected to attend reviews, share feedback, and iterate on concepts when needed.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Design and develop concepts for a variety of environments, architectural styles, and environmental props
- Collaborate with the Art Department and Lead Concept Artist.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential
- Highly effective time management, ability to prioritise and maintain work schedule
- Self-sufficient, pro-active, and confident in sharing ideas
- Ability to solve creative problems through innovative design, balancing form and function, shape language and consistent visual identity
- An understanding of complimentary tools and pipelines
- Artistic skills, including rendering, painting, and the ability to efficiently produce a variety of concepts that push the visuals in line with the Art Direction
- A strong grasp of colour, light, composition, anatomy, perspective, and depth
- Knowledge of:
- 3D Environment Art Pipeline
- Environment Design
Desirable
- Understanding of architectural design
- Some experience using 3D software such as Blender, 3DsMax, Z-Brush or Maya.
