Concept Artist (Temporary)

Storm8 is looking for a skilled Concept Artist to help us create content for our hit mobile game, Home Design Makeover .

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of art production pipelines and art creation tools for mobile to include Maya and Adobe’s Creative Suite. Candidate will work closely with Art Director and project leads to evangelize and drive the artistic vision of the game. Knowledge of interior design is a plus.

The Concept Artist will show a diverse portfolio of recent samples that demonstrate high artistic aptitude and understanding of design and color. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work remotely within a highly iterative process. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of art production pipelines and art creation tools for mobile to include Maya, Unity, and Adobe’s Creative Suite. Candidate will work closely with Art Director and project leads to evangelize and drive the artistic vision of the game.

Responsibilities:

• Partner closely with Art Director to develop concepts through an iterative process.
• Working from a theme develop a vision through thorough research and reference gathering
• Create simple 3D environments
• Build guides that communicate both technical direction and communicate a clear vision

Qualifications:

• BA degree in fine arts or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3 years experience in a similar role as a Concept Artist within the games industry.
• Deep understanding of core artistic principles including color, composition, structure and perspective.
• A strong portfolio representing both 2D and 3D artwork that displays proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Maya (or equivalent 3D package).
• Knowledge and passion for interior design a plus
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment that requires rapid project turnaround and frequent priority shifts.
• Excellent communication and team skills.
• Have a passion for video games and what’s trending in mobile.
